Somewhere there must be a rule that says you cannot live within spitting distance of a beach and not go down for a visit when the weather is as glorious as it is at the moment.
Being the sort of person that follows rules, rather than break them, we of course had to spend the last couple of days and nights at the beach.
Jack busy hoisting his trouser legs up cos he’s grown out of all his shorts!
The sun maybe really hot at the moment, but the sea is still freezing and this is as far as he was willing to go with no shorts and no towel…
Most of the beaches around here are pebbled, but if you look really carefully you can find a bit of sand…
The boys decided they would like to take a trip to the harbour yesterday, all this Swallows and Amazons has given them a bit of an interest in boating so they wanted to see if there were any boats for sale in the boatyard. We found one or two small ones that we liked, but then a much bigger one which was ten and a half thousand pounds. Think we’ll have two…
Or we can settle for just looking at them and taking photos like this one…
We took the books down so they had some ‘beach ed’, much to the amusement of the elderly people sitting on the bench behind us, lol!
Just to show we don’t spend our entire lives relaxing at the beach, here’s a few of them at a park…
And, erm , er… back to the beach for crabbing with friends from scouts…
Altogether around 50 odd crabs were caught, 15 of those by Jack and 2 by Mickey. Every single one of them was released back into the river when we had finished. The local fishmonger had been kind enough to supply bait for the entire troop.
By the time they were ready to go home it was almost too dark to see!
Today we found out that Jack had won first place in his age group for a competition on the Structured HE forum and Mick had won third in his age group! All done by polled voting so very fair and above board. Jack is over the moon and can’t wait to get started on this month’s competition.
Up to the docs in a minute. Jack has got very bad hay fever which really is making him feel poorly so we’re off to see what the doc suggests. I’m thinking that my continual sneezles may well be hay fever too so we’ll be exploring that avenue a bit further…

Just catching up, the wii guitar looks like brilliant fun! Those Galore Park Books have really gone down well in your house, even on the beach LOL. What a good advert for HE you all are. Looks like a lovely day.

They love the GP books. I’m seriously thinking of getting them in other subjects too for next year.
Wii guitar is terrific, makes your wrists ache after a while though, lol

I love the photos. Beach HE sounds great to me. I think we might be doing that ourselves next week.

Beach ed is great, the sea can be a bit of a distraction though, lol

Looks lovely, we were going to take the flats to the beach tomorrow, but I’ve heard the weather’s on the turn, so we’ll see. I bet the sea was cold, brave lad!

This evening is colder again, can’t help thinking that’s probably the end of our current ‘hotspot’ for a while

One of the greatest things about HE is you can do it anywhere. Sounds like great fun on the beach. Love the pics.

That’s one of the things I love about it the most too.

Ah yes, we saw that on the local evening news too. I hope people take heed and do not try and grab a few fossils at the risk of their lives…
